  • Thirty years ago Lexi Bieber began her swim instruction journey as a junior coach for her local swim team. After spending several years teaching with with a regionally renowned private swim school, Lexi began to share her skills with the local community pool expanding her skills and methods for learners with diverse experience & ability.

    While being a professional mom for over a decade, Lexi continued swim instruction for a few of her friends’ and coworkers’ kids in Santa Monica. The ongoing magic propelled Lexi to invest in her ikigai and create Glide Swim School in January 2023. Lexi earned a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification in May 2023 and has customized lessons to bring the joy of safe fun in the water to dozens of students around LA’s west side.

  • Private, one-on-one lessons in a warm backyard pool with certified instructors. We meet swimmers at their level and craft a journey through key milestones to safe fun in the water.

  • Lessons are held in a student’s own home pool or in a pool they are authorized to use for private swim lessons. The pool should be heated to 90 degrees for ease and comfort during the lesson.

    Lessons are also held in one of the Glide Swim School locations suited for private swim instruction and practice. We partner with local backyard pool owners to share their pool for our private instruction methods.

    Glide also provides private swim instruction for students with access to community or shared swimming pools depending on specific conditions to be determined during the initial scheduling dialog.

    Glide does not operate in oceans, lakes, rivers, or other open bodies of water.

    For student’s pool locations, a Glide Swim representative will connect with you to coordinate scheduling after your successful enrollment.

    Once enrollment is submitted, a page opens to view availability and buy lesson packages for Glide Swim pool locations.

    After buying a lesson or package, access the calendar and schedule lessons. Try to schedule all of the lessons in a package soon. The calendar is “first come, first served” and desired times may become booked. With the 24 hour cancellation policy, enrollees are able to cancel/reschedule lessons in the calendar.

    Once lessons are scheduled, access the calendar again either through the URL links included in the lessons package receipt email or the lesson schedule receipt email.

    Lesson plans are invoiced fully in advance and payment is due upon receipt.

    Lessons happen rain or shine, unless there is lightning or flood watch or air quality alert.

    Glide Swim School reserves the right to cancel all, or any portion of, a swim lesson due to weather or any other reasons within or beyond its control.

    Lessons canceled by Glide Swim School will be rescheduled at our mutual convenience.

    Any cancellation made before 24 hours is eligible for rescheduling until the expiration of the purchased package (typically 90 days). Rescheduling availability is not guaranteed.

    Any cancellation made by students or guardians fewer than 24 hours prior to the start of the scheduled swim lesson will be charged as a completed lesson without rescheduling, refund, or other recompense.

  • Options are based on the number and location of lessons.

    For lessons in your own pool the lessons are 60 minutes and the water should be 90F. Home lessons may be split between students.

    Each lesson at a Glide location is 1:1 for 30 minutes in a warm, backyard pool. Lessons may be scheduled for multiple 30-minute increments.

    Lessons are packaged together in quantities so the more you buy, the more you save. Payment in full is required by the invoice due date and prior to the first lesson.

  • Not at this time. Our programs see the most success with students at least two and a half years old.

  • Visit our enrollment page to initiate your swim journey.

    After Glide Swim receives your enrollment form, you can expect us to follow up with you by email to craft the program that works best for your objectives and timeline.

    For eager swimmers, we now offer self-service scheduling packages available immediately upon successful enrollment.

    We are a new business and our messages may go to your spam/junk folder at first so please look there.

  • For packages with self-service scheduling, electronic payment is required to generate a scheduling code for use in creating or modifying individual appointments.

    For enrollees with an assisted scheduling package, the full package will be invoiced in advance. Payment in full is required by the invoice due date and prior to the first scheduled lesson of the package.

    Glide invoices are sent by Quickbooks Online to the parent/guardian email address provided on the enrollment form. The invoices are payable by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, or bank transfer (preferred).

  • Please wear comfortable swimwear and bring a towel for after the lesson.

    If you have long hair, please put it up in a swim cap or pony tail.

    Our youngest students will require a tight-fitting swim diaper.

    Our instructors will have goggles, fins, props, and other equipment for each lesson.

  • In the first lesson, you’ll discuss the student’s goals with the instructor, do a brief warm up, then evaluate the student’s skill level. From there we will begin drills to build the skills the student needs to achieve their goals.

  • For lessons scheduled at a Glide pool, we require at least 24 hour notice to provide a courtesy rescheduling.

    Self-scheduling package appointments may be rescheduled if completed more than 24 hours prior to the appointment time.

    Life happens and Glide will try to accommodate rescheduling requests with less than 24 hour notice which may incur a fee.
